What is Aquamation?
Aquamation, also known as alkaline hydrolysis, uses warm water and a gentle alkaline solution to return your pet to their natural components.
The process uses 90% less energy than flame cremation and produces only one-tenth of the carbon footprint. There are no harmful greenhouse gases or mercury released.
Only your pet's pure, white calcium phosphate ashes are returned, which is often 20% more abundant than flame cremation. These remains are 100% safe to be kept in an urn, buried, or scattered.

A Step-by-Step Guide
Initial Contact & Arrangements
Reach out to us online or by phone. We discuss your wishes and coordinate the details of the service.
Transportation
We can pick up your pet directly from your veterinarian's office, or you are welcome to drop them off at our Worcester facility.
The Aquamation Process
Your pet is cared for through our gentle water circulation process. A stainless steel tracking tag remains with them at all times.
Preparation of Remains
The pure mineral remains are carefully dried and processed into a fine, white ash.
Return to the Family
Your pet's remains are returned in a sustainably made wooden urn, accompanied by a Certificate of Aquamation and any selected keepsakes.
Service Options & Pricing
Communal Aquamation
Several pets are gently cared for together in the chamber. Remains are not returned to the family, but are instead spread locally with dignity.
- Under 50 lbs: $75
- 51 – 100 lbs: $125
- 101+ lbs: $175
Individual Aquamation
Your pet is placed in its own individual compartment along with a stainless steel identification tag. There is no mixing of remains. Once completed, your pet’s ashes are returned to you.
- 1 – 20 lbs: $175
- 21 – 75 lbs: $200
- 76 – 150 lbs: $250
- 151+ lbs: $300
* Optional: For additional peace of mind, your pet may be placed in a Euthabag prior to aquamation for an additional $50.
Euthanasia & Farewell
We offer a dedicated comfort room at our facility for families to spend their final moments with their pet. Euthanasia at our facility is by appointment only and performed compassionately by Dr. Maxfield. We also welcome other mobile veterinarians to use our facility if you prefer not to have the procedure at home.
